Apple iPhone 5S: Less Expensive Phone - Review
we introduced you to the Apple iPad , how Apple iPhone could stay back. So featuring an guest article on Apple iPhone 5S .
For the year 2013, Apple plans to introduce two models of iPhone with 4-inch screens, making them larger than the traditional iPhones. The news spread like wild fire after DigiTimes – China-based blog which covers Apple’s supply-chain – disclosed the news on their blog.
The news may be worrisome for iPhone 5 users, as their mobiles will get obsolete with the launch of its upgrade, iPhone 5S probably would release in May. The other launch is rumoured to be the low cost version of a traditional iPhone having a plastic cover.
It’s big and cheap! :
The bigger and cheaper iPhone sounds completely wrong when we consider the traditional iPhone design and price and also Apple’s policy to cater to the high end users. The decision to develop an affordable iPhone has come from their current position in Europe and Asia. Although iPhone has a strong hold in the U.S. market, but Android has outdone Apple in European and emerging markets due to its range of affordable phones and penetration into low and middle end market.
Apple is seriously planning to diversify its market by increasing the size of its phones as compared to Android’s. However, Apple should not compromise on its legacy of innovative, high-classed, 3.5-inch screen iPhones, which has become the identity of Apple. The giant smart phone company should also keep in mind that manufacturing large screen phone will cost more than their normal phones and selling them on lower price would affect Apple’s profits.
Another glitch that Apple may have to face with its 4-inch iPhone venture is the back to back launch of two phones. Apple has the tradition of developing one phone in a year. It has been noticed that Apple has reverted from its one phone a year policy – iPad 3 was launched just before iPhone 5 in September 2012, just after that iPad mini was launched. Seems like Apple is diverting from their history of clear, single product portfolio. But it is expected the company would not compromise on its tradition of quality and innovation.
The design :
Packaging the iPhone 5 in a plastic case instead of an anodised aluminium and selling it on a relatively less price can prove to be profitable, if the right market is catered to. The idea can be logical and lucrative in the long run. The reason behind this diversification lies in the success of its previous versions of iPhones. It was noticed that iPhone 4S had high selling rate than iPhone 4 – despite its not-so-impressive feature upgrade.
Similarly, iPhone 5 broke all records of iPhone sale, which was aided by the upgrade of features and change in design – despite some setbacks like the Apple maps. Now, with the news of iPhone 5S brewing up, it is anticipated that Apple has another winning streak to play.
With every new development in its product, Apple has also tightened its noose around the malware threat. This is one major reason that smart phone users would pay more money to keep their data and gadget safe from any iPhone spy ware or monitoring software.
